Start learning with us, beginning at age 4!

Welcome to the first big milestone in their academic journey! Entering TK is a big step for families. We understand how important it is to make sure your child is set up to succeed. In Vacaville Unified, our goal is simple. We want to spark an interest in education which will last your child a lifetime!

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is designed as the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. EC Section 48000 [d].

We encourage you to register your student by July 31, 2023 to help us determine our facility needs for the 2023-24 school year. Many of our schools fill their classes quickly.

Students who participate in TK will attend school daily. TK is offered at Padan (AM and PM), Fairmont (AM only), Markham (AM and PM), Hemlock (AM and PM) Elementary. Spots are limited, so register early!

Two additional locations will be added starting 2023-2024 school year. Orchard Elementary will have an AM and PM class and Alamo Elementary will have a PM class available. For families who are registering for the 2023-2024 school year should enroll with their school of residency and specify any preferences of location to their registrar. You will receive a letter notifying you of the school your child will attend in July 2023.
