Vacaville Unified School District is proud to celebrate Cecilio Tecson, Head Custodian at Willis Jepson Middle School, as its 2025-26 Classified Employee of the Year.
At Willis Jepson Middle School, staff often describe their campus as a special place, a community grounded in pride, hard work, and genuine care. At the center of that community is Cecilio Tecson, whose presence is felt the moment students arrive on campus.
Known for his unparalleled work ethic and contagious positivity, Mr. Tecson approaches every task with patience, humor, and a commitment to finding solutions. Colleagues describe him as kind, thoughtful, and always willing to help, often before being asked.
While Mr. Tecson takes great pride in maintaining a large and complex campus, his impact reaches far beyond facilities. He builds meaningful relationships with students, greeting them in the mornings and connecting with them throughout the day. In one especially moving example, Mr. Tecson formed a bond with a student who struggled to transition into class each morning. On difficult days, he met the student at the front of the school and walked him to class, helping him feel safe and supported. It is this quiet, consistent care that makes Mr. Tecson not only an outstanding classified professional but a trusted and valued member of the Jepson community.
VUSD congratulates Cecilio on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to celebrating him as he represents the district in the Solano County Office of Education’s Classified Employee of the Year program this spring.
