The Vacaville Unified School District (VUSD) is thrilled to announce a new, progressive salary policy that celebrates and rewards the dedication and expertise of our educators. In partnership with the Vacaville Teachers Association (VTA), we are implementing a policy that could significantly enhance your career trajectory within our district.
Starting July 1, 2023, teachers joining the VUSD team can transfer up to 24 years of their teaching experience from public and accredited private schools onto our salary scale. This means you could start your journey at VUSD, earning up to $97,385, depending on your years of service and educational units beyond your bachelor's degree!
We wholeheartedly believe that teaching experience should be recognized and rewarded, and this policy is a testament to that belief. We accept all qualifying experiences from both public and state-accredited private schools. Moreover, any experience gained at a similar level within the last 27 years can be considered.
This change to our initial salary placement policy signifies a significant shift in our approach to recruitment and retention.
