Hemlock Elementary Transitional Kindergarten teacher Renee Yeasted Honored as VUSD's Teacher Of The Year
The Vacaville Unified School District proudly announces its Teacher of the Year for 2024-2025: Renee Yeasted, Transitional Kindergarten Teacher at Hemlock Elementary.
In her nomination, principal Nicole Bandy described her as "the epitome of a lifelong learner." She was also singled out for her dedication to her students, with many of them making more than a year's progress in learning some, advancing two years.
"Renee's students consistently make more than a year's worth of progress each year, and many students make 2+ years of growth during their time with her! This is because of Renee's deep instructional expertise and her attention not just to the content, but also to how students construct new knowledge," Bandy wrote in her nomination.
Bandy also highlighted Yeasted's commitment to the parents of her young TK students. She holds weekly parent meetings, which help them work with their children and "develop deep bonds with the school community and one another."
"Renee's meetings draw families into the life of the school, which ensures a positive first school experience for both students and families," she wrote.
Her dedication to Hemlock is also at the forefront of her honor, as she mentored two new teachers this school year.
Congratulations, Renee, on a well-deserved honor.
