Free/Reduced Price Meals FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When can I fill out an application for the next school year?  Applications for the 2019-2020 school year can be completed beginning July 1, 2019. 
  2. Do I need to fill out a new application every year?  Yes. Each family must re-apply every new school year.
  3. Can I fill out an application online?  Yes. Click this link to complete application online: 
  4. Where can I get a paper application? Paper applications are available at every school office, cafeteria & the district office
  5. Where do I turn in my paper application? Applications can be turned in at every school office, cafeteria & district office.
  6. Does last year's status carry over into the new year? Students who qualified for free/reduced meals the previous school year have a 30 day grace period into the new school year, giving family's enough time to complete paperwork.
  7. How long does it take to process my application after your office receives it? 7-10 business days. 
  8. Should I complete one application per child? NO. Please complete only ONE application per household.
  9. Do I have to pay full-price for their meals until the application has been processed?  Unless your student is covered by the grace period (question #6)  students will have to pay full price until your application is processed.

Other Benefits when applying for free/reduced meals

By completing a free/reduced meal application your student can be eligible for the following:

-Free and/or Reduced Lunch

-Fee Waivers for tests such as: PSAT (11th grade), SAT, ACT, and AP

-Fee Waivers for college applications

-Fee Waivers for utilities, internet and other cost saving plans
