Complaint Procedures
The Vacaville Unified School District has specific procedures for handling different types of complaints. The District's Board Policies and Administrative Regulations contain more details concerning the process for lodging complaints and corresponding appeal rights. The District encourages early, informal resolution of complaints whenever possible. Many issues are best resolved by discussions between the parties involved.
Williams Uniform Complaint Procedures
This complaint procedure pertains to certain complaints about instructional materials, emergency or urgent facilities conditions that pose a threat to the health and safety of pupils or staff, and teacher vacancies or mis-assignments.

Uniform Complaint Procedures Regarding Compliance with State and Federal Programs
This complaint procedure governs the following:
1) complaints of discrimination on the basis of age, sexual orientation, gender, sex, ethnic group identification, ancestry, race, national origin, religion, color, or mental or physical disability
2) complaints of violations of the laws and regulations governing specific programs

Concerns Regarding District Employees
Concerns raised about school district personnel should be resolved as quickly as possible. VUSD urges individuals to discuss concerns directly with the employee(s) in question when concerns surface. Complaints Concerning Instructional Materials
Complaints concerning the content or use of instructional materials, including textbooks, supplementary instructional materials, library materials, or other instructional materials and equipment, shall be properly and fairly considered using established complaint procedures.
