Willis Jepson Middle School serves over 860 students. Modernizations at Willis Jepson began October 2016 and will continued through the end of 2017. Project scope included:
Site Work:
Upgrade exterior lighting.
Remove and repair deteriorating building materials in structures
Add automatic irrigation system in select areas
Upgrade existing courtyard to meet ADA requirements
Replace damaged asphalt and improve drainage
Resurface basketball courts.
Classrooms:
Technology upgrades for network and teaching instruments
Replace non-glass window glazing
Upgrade classrooms to meet ADA standards
Paint interior trim
Modernize portable classroom buildings including replacement of window/louvers, carbon monoxide sensors, and ADA improvements (soap/towel dispensers, drinking fountains, and sinks)
Upgrade door hardware including peepholes, locksets, and door closures
Upgrade science classrooms
Core Facilities and Supporting Spaces:
Replace carpeting in Library area
Modernize locker room lockers, including additional storage, washer dryer hook-ups, and HVAC upgrades.
Modernize gymnasium including lighting
Modernize restrooms facilities for ADA
Modernize the kitchen, including upgrade of existing lighting, technology, natural gas, HVAC, and plumbing
Seismic upgrade of Building F (AB300 Project)
Technology / Low Voltage:
Upgrade classroom technology including audio/video systems and projectors/displays.
Provide additional wireless device locations to support the future one-to-one student device requirements.
Upgrade existing low voltage systems including fire alarm, assistive listening, telephone, intercom, clock, and video security.
HVAC / Utility Infrastructure:
Install a campus-wide integrated energy management system
Replace 12 AC Units at Building A & G
Replace aging utility infrastructure piping systems
