At Vacaville Unified School District (VUSD), we are committed to providing all students with safe meals and a safe environment to enjoy them. We understand that some students have specific dietary needs, whether due to medical conditions, allergies, or food intolerances. We are here to assist families in ensuring that all students receive the appropriate meals.
Special Dietary Needs
VUSD follows USDA guidelines and works to accommodate students who have disabilities, food allergies, or other dietary restrictions. If your child requires special dietary accommodations, please follow these steps:
- Complete the Medical Statement to Request Special Meals and/or Accommodations Form.
- Email the completed form to Ivette Pareja, the Student Nutrition Service's Nutrition Coordinator, at [email protected].
- Once we receive your form and it’s approved, please allow up to five business days for the new meal accommodations to be put into place.
Please note: The Medical Statement to Request Special Meals and/or Accommodations Form must be fully completed and include a licensed physician's signature for the process to be completed.

Food Substitutions for Food Preferences
At VUSD, we do not provide food substitutions based on personal preferences or religious requirements. However, we offer vegetarian options every day, which include a variety of protein sources and fresh produce to ensure your student has nutritious and satisfying meals.
