Updating Student Contact Information
When enrolling a student for the first time or updating new contact information, please ensure that parental email addresses and contact information such as email and contact numbers are accurate. This will help ensure proper communication with families.
Child Custody Issues
Custody disputes must be addressed through the court system. By law, if parents are legally separated or divorced, both parents have equal rights to custody of their children unless a court order specifies otherwise. The school has no legal authority to deny access to biological parents or withhold school records.
The school must have a copy on file if a parent has a valid, signed court order restricting the other parent or any third party. The school is legally obligated to release the child to either parent without such documentation, provided they present proper identification. Any situations that may affect the well-being of students will be handled at the discretion of the Principal or their designee. In cases of disruption, the police may be called, and an officer will be asked to intervene.
Parents are urged to avoid involving the school in custody disputes and to maintain up-to-date contact information for their children.
