2018 VUSD Annual Update

Please be our guest at Vacaville Unified School District's 2018 Annual Update presentation on Tuesday, September 11, 2018  at the Educational Services Center located at 401 Nut Tree Road in Vacaville.

We will be hosting two presentations on September 11th. The first will be held at 10:30 AM in partnership with the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce. The second session will be at 6:00 PM for working parents and guardians.

Superintendent Jane Shamieh, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Ed Santopadre and Community Engagement & Communications Director Jennifer Leonard will be sharing on topics like school safety, job skills and career development, college readiness, Measure A and much more. Please RSVP in the form in the right margin for seating.

We hope you are able to join the event, connect with Vacaville Unified staff and learn about current VUSD happenings for kids.

8-16-2018, Momentary Road Closures Friday August 17th

Our hearts and support go out to the Griess family as they deal with the tragic loss of CHP Officer Kirk Griess. Please note the momentary road closures pertaining to the memorial procession tomorrow morning on the maps provided below.

Memorial Procession – Traffic Delays

 

 

Traffic in Vacaville to be momentarily impacted Friday during CHP Officer Kirk Griess’ memorial procession.

 

The memorial service celebrating the life of fallen CHP Officer Kirk Griess will be held at The Father’s House Church located at 4800 Horse Creek Drive in Vacaville this Friday, August 17that 11:00 a.m..  Traffic will be momentarily impacted during procession movements.  Motoroists are asked to take alternative routes if possible. Traffic control personnel and appropriate signage will be in place to provide guidance.  Times may fluctuate slightly.  Please Vacaville PD on Facebook and Twitter for the most up to date inofmration. The areas impacted are as follows:

 

7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. All lanes of Elmira Road in front of Vaca Hills Chapel between Allison Drive and Beelard Drive will be completely closed.

 

8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (Route #1) A procession will cause momentary delays as it travels south on Browns Valley Parkway from Vaca Valley Parkway.  The procession will continue to southbound Allison Drive and then east on Elmira Road, stopping momentarily in front of Vaca Hills Chapel.

 

9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. (Route #2) The procession will proceed from Vaca Hills Chapel eastbound on Elmira Road to northbound Leisure Town Road.  The procession will travel northbound on Leisure Town Road, east on Vaca Valley Parkway, south on East Ackerly Drive, and then south on Horse Creek Drive before arriving at The Father’s House. 

 

12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Route #3) The procession will leave The Father’s House northbound on Horse Creek Drive, north on Grassland Drive, north on New Horizons 

Way, east on Vaca Valley Parkway, and then onto I-505 as the procession leaves the city of Vacaville.

Internment will be private and members of the public are invited to line procession routes to honor Officer Griess and his family as the procession passes.
