Drama.. VUSD lives for it!!
On Saturday, 24 January 2009 nearly two hundred elementary GATE Students gathered to entertain a few elements of the world of Drama. This enrichment event entitled, ‘Dramapalooza’ was guided by the ‘Gifts and Talents’ of Ms. Serena Kreamer and her staff from the J & S Center for the Performing Arts. The team of instructors led a morning session that included Acting (the world of Improvisation), Voice and Dance [both Jazz and Hip Hop]. The students from grades 3 through 6 engaged in all three learning centers which were presented at both the J & S Studio as well as at the Harvest Church- located across the street from the studio-concurrently. The students were challenged to project their voices, find a melody and even demonstrate their dance moves all morning long. The session was concluded with raffles and a healthy treat provided by a grant from Dreyer’s Ice Cream. The energetic staff from J & S opened the PM Session with a performance by the afternoon’s instructors and once again delivered Acting, Voice and Dance to another group of potential thespians.
