If you have bicycles collecting dust in a garage, now is the time to donate them to a worthy cause.
The VUSD Summer Community Feeding Program is seeking donations of used bicycles to to distribute to local children who need one this summer. We are collecting all sizes of youth bicycles, including those with training wheels. Donation drop-off day will be Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at one of three sites:
- Will C. Wood High School parking lot, 998 Marshall Rd.
- Vacaville High School parking lot, 100 W. Monte Vista Ave.
- Three Oaks Community Center parking lot, 1100 Alamo Dr.
The VUSD Nutrition department is partnering with Vacaville REACH Youth Coalition, CMF, CDCR, and The Fathers House in this huge endeavor - coordinating donations, repairing bikes, and distributing both bikes and meals to neighborhoods June 11 to August 10.
For more information about the bicycle drop-offs contact Judith Franco, REACH Coordinator, at 449-1859. We are also looking for cash donations to purchase helmets, patch kits, and other related supplies. See our flyer for more information.
