Open Enrollment Applications
Open Enrollment applications will be available at the Vacaville
Unified School District’s Educational Services Center, 401 Nut Tree Road, Vacaville, during the month of February. Open Enrollment applications will be accepted for secondary schools only. Open enrollment is not currently being offered at the elementary level. Applications must be filed in person and received by the Educational Services Department no later than February 29, 2016 at 5.p.m.
Interdistrict Agreement (between school districts)
Interdistrict Agreements for release out of VUSD will be available beginning March 1, 2016. New and renewal incoming Interdistrict students should complete an application for 2016-2017 starting in their district of residence. Please submit all applications to Yvette Pena in the Educational Services Department. All new applications into VUSD will be held and referred to the requested school for consideration in enrollment projections. No new placements will be made until after April 1, 2016.
Beginning March 1 and ending on April 15
Title 1 School Choice/California Romero Bill School Choice
Title 1 School Choice/California Romero Bill School Choice Window Letters will be provided to qualifying families in March 2016. Applications will be due by Friday, April 15, 2016. Notification will occur by Friday, May 1, 2016.
Title I provisions allow all students attending Hemlock, Markham, Padan and Vaca Pena schools the option to transfer to another public school, including a public charter school, that is within the District and that is not in program improvement or is not persistently dangerous.
Additionally, the Romero Bill School Choice also allows students from Padan and Markham, to transfer to another higher performing school inside or outside of the District.
Intradistrict Agreement (within VUSD)
Intradistrict Agreement applications for 2016-17 will be available
beginning April 18, 2016. Placements will be made after students have been placed for Title I School Choice and California Romero Bill School Choice. Students currently attending a school on an Intradistrict Agreement will have priority over new students. All new students, including incoming Kindergarten students, for school year 2016-2017 must enroll at their school of residence before requesting an Intradistrict Agreement.
