The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) were adopted by the State Board of Education at the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year. Vacaville Unified is working to transition to these newly adopted standards, with full implementation expected by 2015. Our CCSS page has resources for parents, introductions and background information on this important change in education.

Thank You Vacaville Community!

On November 4, 2014, voters in Vacaville passed Measure A by a 61% margin! The $194 million bond will provide funds to repair, modernize, replace, renovate, expand, equip and furnish the district’s schools.

Thank you to the campaign volunteers, students, staff and entire community for helping us pass the Measure A bond!

To aid in the oversight of the bond and keep the community informed, the district is setting up a web site specifically for Measure A. Check back soon for the link.

Every Minute Matters
A campaign to boost student attendance

Solano COE attendance logo

VUSD is partnering with the Solano County Office of Education to address chronic student absenteeism. The Every Minute Matters campaign seeks to educate families about the critical role they play in getting children to school on time every day. Better attendance in early grades leads to better reading performance, which leads to a higher likelihood to graduate from high school.
See the Every Minute Matters Toolkit, and read the letter from Jay Speck, Solano County Superintendent of Schools.
