VUSD names new Director of Special Ed.

Phan.jpgCallison principal Jodie Phan has been appointed as the Director of Special Education effective July 1, 2012, replacing Dr. Lynda Donahue who is retiring.  Jodie has distinguished herself as a valued member of the Vacaville Unified School District Administrative Leadership Team since her move from the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District.

In her role as the principal of Callison school Jodie’s devotion to her students, staff and profession are evident each and every day. Her interests always lie in what are best for the students and her staff and she works long and hard to make sure they have every available opportunity and tool to reach their educational goals.

As a member of the Vacaville Unified School District Strategic Planning Team, Jodie played an important role in working with other district and community members to develop the vision for students the district is taking in the years to come.  She is a member of the Executive Board of the Solano Charter of ACSA serving as Vice President Elect. She belongs to numerous service groups and her professional development has been focused on issues such as RTI, PLC, Strategic-Facilitator Training, and SELPA Professional Development.  In addition she is working with the Joint UC Davis/Sonoma State Capital North Doctorate in Educational Leadership with the goal of attaining her Ed.D.
